GEORGETOWN -- Following-up on the enormous success of its "Winter Wonderland" party on Christmas Eve Eve -- which literally caused Georgetown's already uber-popular L2 Lounge to temporarily shut its doors in order to accommodate the hundreds of revelers who turned-out -- Sandro Keres and Tati Pas's Art Soiree series of events kicked-off the new year with another crowded show featuring a solo exhibit by acclaimed D.C. painter and artist Don Patron.

An avid student of art history and a self-described synesthete, Don applies his gift of "hearing color" and "seeing sound" to each of his canvases as a way of communicating elements of humanism.

Thursday night's presentation of Don's "Stellar Constellation Collection" featured the portraits of 46 individual Washington-area philanthropists, as painted by the artist over a period of just three days this week.

In presenting such work, Don sought to "chase the identity of the person being presented in various forms of mixed media" which, when mixed with a background of unfinished white space, left "room for the eye [of the observer] to understand the light of [the associated] charity."

“These Charitable souls, like the stars, are observed in our City and we are guided by them. Yet, these individuals are never the focus of the charity they dedicate their lives to... They are leaders but place others before themselves. They make tangible the hopes of our American Society Dreams... It is my honor to paint the light of these stars as they illuminate, not only my daily life, but all others their strong identities cast a light over.” -- Don Patron

The complete list of muses for last night's show were as follows:

Tanya Lynn Sabel / Stephanie Rackley-Abraham / Marcus Stephens / Wendy Gordon / Cody Barry / Jennifer Harlow / Cameron Bradberry / Kate Michael / Allison Priebe Brooks / Im Sene / William Eskridge / Timur Tugberk / Cheryl Romero / Walter Grio / Gail Joukov / David Bradberry / Daniel Swartz / Bill Moran / Jonathan Winwar / Angela Steever-Diba / Candice Autry / Maggie O'Neill / Cal Barnes / Shannon Estrin Rosoff / Linda Bywaters / Philip McCarthy / Micky Farivar / Douglas Sonders / Jash Iku / Lolly Amons / Mary Amons / Sherie Gabriel / Janine Schoonover / Joff Masukawa / Amanda Polk / Katherine Kennedy / Krista Johnson / Kyle Rouse / Joe & Eileen Bartling / Berin Szoka / Kerri Hood

While art oftentimes imitates life, in this particular case, the world would be a decidedly better place if life imitated the heartfelt motivation behind the charities in the art on display Thursday night.

Congratulations to Don, Sandro, and Tati on an unforgettable event. It was a privilege to both attend and participate!
