GEORGETOWN -- When the details of this year's FotoWeek DC festival were first announced during the summer, we immediately started to brainstorm ways of injecting a "fashionable element" into the celebration.

Naturally, when one thinks of "Washington, D.C." and "fashion", one of the first things that pops into mind is the wildly popular Fashion for Paws runway show, which coincidentally just happens to attract dozens of photographers to capture the festivities each year.

And so the seeds were planted for the very first Fashion for Paws Runway Show Photography Exhibit!

Held inside the luxe accommodations of Georgetown's popular L2 Lounge on Thursday night, the event's mission was simple: To raise as much money for the Fashion for Paws program as possible while simultaneously showcasing some of the brilliant fashion photography to emerge from the runway show over the years.

REVAMP.com was privileged enough to co-host the evening, which featured the work of more than a dozen different area photographers, including Moshe Zusman, Stephen Bobb, Kyle Gustafson, Michael Domingo, Joseph Allen, Nakeva Corothers, Phil Kogan, Rich Kessler, and Vithaya Phongsavan.

Washington Life Magazine also generously contributed a series of gorgeous pictures from staff photographers Kyle Samperton and Koch Photo for the occasion.

Each guest's $20 door donation was tax deductible and 100% of the night's proceeds benefited the Fashion for Paws program directly. All told, more than 200 guests, volunteers, and media representatives descended upon Cady's Alley, with the event raising $3,098 in three short hours!

Even the prints themselves were for sale last night -- all in the name of raising the most amount of money for the Washington Humane Society as possible (we spotted Jan Cousteau proudly snagging the print of son Philippe from this year's show).

While photography is generally considered a passive medium of entertainment, both REVAMP.com and Fashion for Paws Executive Director Tara de Nicolas sought to make things a bit more interactive as plans unfolded.

To such an end, guests were invited to vote on their favorite runway photographs from the event, with the models featured in the three most popular prints -- Amanda Polk, Tiffany Carter and Joe Roberts (as a couple), and Katy Nelson -- each receiving a complimentary $100 gift card courtesy of online fashion retailer Gilt Groupe.

The Georgetown Business Improvement District -- the same community group that brought Washingtonians this year's "Georgetown's Fashion's Night Out" and the "Taste of Georgetown" -- also kindly stepped-in to help sponsor an interactive photo booth for the event, which invited all sorts of hilarity throughout the evening.

Equal parts fun, fur, fashion, and philanthropy, the Fashion for Paws program has no shortage of friends in the region. And almost all of them turned out on Thursday night to show their support. Runway models easily mixed with photographers, WHS volunteers, friends, and family members. There might have even been the occasional four-legged companion in attendance!

From the media world, DC Magazine Publisher Peter A. Abrahams, Washington Life Magazine Associate Publisher John H. Arundel, FOX5's Steve Chenevey, and WTOP's Bob Madigan stopped-by to show their support, as did numerous reporters and photographers from The Scene Bisnow, OhMyGOFF on CBS 9NEWS NOW, and Gannett's Metromix.

The elegant brick and stone walls of L2 Lounge proved to be the perfect venue for the inaugural exhibit, with the much admired club graciously opening hours earlier than normal to host the event and drink specials offered for much of the evening.

L2 Manager Oscar A. Colque-Michel and Membership Director Leah Dyrud even managed to enlist the esteemed musical talent of Brian Liu (aka DJ Yellow Fever) and Rob 'Kalani' Tifford to spin the night's soundtrack.

It was truly an evening of fashion furtography not soon to be forgotten!
