Left shoulder or right shoulder? Either choice made a difference at last night's EDEN fundraiser for Luke's Wings.
NORTHWEST -- The rooftop deck of the exclusive
EDEN lounge was filled with costumed contributors late Thursday evening, for a special Halloween fundraiser benefiting
Luke's Wings.
A 501(c)3 organization that provides travel planning and airplane tickets to the families of wounded warriors currently hospitalized at medical and rehabilitation centers all over the country, Luke's Wings held last night's event to raise money to fly the parents of a wounded soldier to be with their son during a recent operation at Walter Reed.
Indeed, one of the non-profit's many appealing qualities for donors is that it delivers almost immediate aid to its beneficiaries. Every penny counts to Luke's Wings because each donation gets them that much closer to reuniting a wounded warrior with his/her family.
Last night, a $20 suggested door donation bought guests access to an open bar (9 p.m. to 10 p.m.) on EDEN's gorgeous rooftop and all of the scary fun they could handle. While the weather had suddenly turned a bit chilly, the popular club's heat lamps burned brightly all night long and the mood at the top of the city was energetic and playful.
Raggedy Ann, the Devil, an angel, an adorable dog, Wonder Woman... They were all there (it goes without saying that Luke's Wings has an eclectic group of friends). All told, the event raised more than $800 in a few scant hours.
It might be Halloween weekend, but there's nothing scary about Luke's Wings' mission!
