NORTHWEST -- Summer received a fashionable send-off on Thursday night as The Pink Line Project hosted a farewell "White Party" at The Phillips Collection.

An evening program that typically combines live music, gallery talks, priceless artwork, and a cash bar, last night's Phillips After 5 event took a decidedly edgier twist than usual, with interactive art exhibits by Kenny George and Alberto Gaitan as well as music by D.C.-based BLUEBRAIN.

With a Caribbean theme serving as a guide, guests were invited to wear their whites at least one last time before Labor Day, and plates of authentic Caribbean food were sold for $10/each. The Glade Dance Collective was also on hand to perform to an energetic Afro-Cuban beat.

Cooler weather might be just around the corner, but the District had at least one more hot evening last night!
