CITYCENTER -- Washington's power players have been wearing her iconic designs for decades, but fans of Carolina Herrera now have a one-stop-shop where they can browse her latest offerings thanks to this week's opening of her latest 'CH' boutique at CityCenter.

The gleaming, 2,400-square-foot property is Herrera's 21st in the U.S., anchoring a prime corner spot on H Street, and features collections for both women and men. And some 150 of the District's most fashionable residents were invited to the just-opened store on Tuesday evening, for a posh launch celebration attended by the legendary designer herself.

Venezuela-born Herrera arrived accompanied by her daughter, Patricia Herrera Lansing, to a collective gasp as the stylish doyenne first stepped foot into the boutique.

The evening was just the right blend of local with global, with New York City-based Mia Moretti spinning beats for the occasion and megapopular lifestyle blogger Nicole Warne (aka Gary Pepper Girl) traveling to D.C. for the occasion.

Helping welcome them to the city was a handful of Washington's own influencers, all clad in Carolina Herrera designs, of course, including Veluxe founder Susanna Quinn, NBC4 anchor Eun Yang, White House staffer Fran Holuba, and philanthropist Sela Collins.

Tuesday's celebration also boasted a charitable note, with ten percent of the night's proceeds earmarked for the neighboring National Portrait Gallery, much to the delight of NPG director Kim Sajet who was also in attendance.

Naturally, every great party requires an after party and Herrera and her guests made an easy transition from fashion to foodie, with her group spotted taking over one of Fiola Mare's private dining rooms later in the evening.

Herrera has been a go-to designer for many of Washington's VIPs for more than three decades now. Indeed, she helped outfit both First Lady Jacqueline Onassis and First Lady Michelle Obama (the latter most recently at the state dinner honoring French President Francois Hollande).

With the opening of CH at CityCenter, the fashionable fairy tale simply continues.
