The Guest List:
NORTHWEST -- Already at the virtual epicenter of most White House Correspondents' Dinner pre-parties, the W Washington, D.C. received an early injection of star wattage last week, with the landmark hotel playing host to Jamie Foxx on Wednesday night.

The Oscar and GRAMMY-award winning star was in town to provide some of the District's VIPs with a special preview of his forthcoming Hollywood studio album, which drops officially on May 18th.

Foxx held a full-court press for journalists inside the posh hotel's underground Root Cellar Whiskey Bar (he sipped on one of the bar's signature negroni cocktails), before making his way to the rooftop to greet fans.

Far from a shrinking violet, the actor/musician headed straight into the crowd during his entrance and delivered a barrage of hugs and backslaps to the fans and friends in attendance, on his way to the stage.

And guests were well prepared to receive Foxx, with sponsor Hennessy having greased the social wheels of the night with an endless array of drinks.

Over the next hour, the award-winning entertainer delivered a humorous set of remarks, welcomed VIPs (athletes, fellow musicians, club owners) on-stage, and even danced with a few lucky girls celebrating their respective birthdays.

But the highlight of the evening by far, of course, was when he jumped behind the microphone and keyboard to perform some highlight tracks from his new album -- all backlit by the glow of the Washington Monument.

That's how D.C. residents go Hollywood.
