The Guest List:
CITYCENTER -- Taking full advantage of its sizeable, three-floor presence inside the upscale CityCenter neighborhood, newly opened Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House drew an impressive crowd on Wednesday evening to celebrate its grand opening.

Boasting 400 seats spread out across two bars, a lounge area, a wine cellar, patio, and an arrangement of board and dining rooms, the luxe eatery commands attention upon arrival. And that's before guests even get a chance to try the food.

D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray, Councilmember Jack Evans, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Vice Chairman Raul Fernandez (co-owner of the Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics), and ESPN commentator Michael Wilbon were among the lucky few who did get the opportunity to nosh and nibble last night, during the party that stretched well past its official 9:00p.m. end time.

Double Eagle is Del Frisco's second Washington location and is clearly intended to serve as its flagship in the city, with a menu that promises to be both "bold and delicious", an award-winning wine list (1,200+ labels), and a level of service "that reminds guests that they’re the boss."

The restaurant eschews the traditional stuffy steakhouse environment favored by the power set during the '80 and '90s, in favor of a bright and airy dining experience that begins with a melodic Motown soundtrack, continues with prime cuts of meat and fresh-off-the-boat seafood, and ends with a genuine feeling of hospitality.

It doesn't take a walk on the moon to see how D.C. foodies will respond. Reservations are encouraged.
