DC Magazine Toasts 2013 Men Of Style; Celebration Doubles As BlackBerry Z10 Launch Event

GEORGETOWN -- Georgetown residents were doing double takes early Thursday evening, as the likes of Washington Wizards point guard John Wall and Washington Redskins wideout Josh Morgan were spotted streaming into the recently remodeled Powerhouse event space.



The reason for such a star-studded gathering of some of the city's leading men was a celebratory party hosted by DC Magazine to toast the publication's 2013 'Men of Style' issue.



An annual feature compiled by the Modern Luxury glossy, this year's spread highlighted seven super-stylish sports figures who "turn heads all over town" -- be it on the court, field, ice or night out on the town.



Last night's event also served double duty as the D.C. launch for BlackBerry's new Z10 touchscreen smartphone. And a handful of lucky guests even managed to score a free Z10 or two during the party's raffle, in addition to plenty of other great prizes like speakers and coffee tumblers.



Beyond the chance to throw a great reception chock full of stylish Washingtonians, yesterday also capped a week-long series of events (the first being a posh rooftop reception at newly opened ultraluxury hotel Capella on Tuesday) that served as a public welcome of sorts for newly named DC Magazine Editor-in-Chief Michael McCarthy.



It was therefore perhaps quite fitting that the "Men of Style" issue was the first to boast his editorial imprint. And both McCarthy and Publisher Peter Abrahams were on-hand last night to lead guests in a stylish toast to the year's honorees.



Because everyone wins when fashion is featured.
