Adam Bernbach Debuts New Drink Series; 'Manhattan' Project First To Bow At Proof

By Daniel Swartz on January 7, 2013
PENN QUARTER -- Stirring-up a little cocktail rejuvenation for the month of January, Proof bar manager Adam Bernbach has launched a new drink series at the Penn Quarter hotspot that offers some innovative twists on a handful of bar classics.

Kicking things off during yesterday's inaugural 'Remastered Edition' was a night dedicated to the Manhattan. Most traditionally made using rye whiskey as the base spirit, Bernbach offered three different rye variations, along with a bourbon whiskey alternative -- all reasonably priced between $11-$14.

The series continues, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., on Sunday, January 13th and Sunday, January 27th, with evenings dedicated to the daiquiri and whiskey sour, respectively, inside Proof's bar and lounge area.

"I've thought a lot about [these drinks] over the years," said Bernbach and "it's always nice...to be able to try something new."

Sadly, the 'Remastered' drink series purposefully boasts only a limited run and there's no word on when it might reappear at Proof once the month is up. Cocktail afficionados are therefore encouraged to toast early and often.
