NORTHWEST -- A cold weather cocktail might be in the cards for
Kris Kringle and his friends this holiday season, both as a reward for a job well done and as a
way of giving back to the Washington community, as part of the
Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel's on-going "RX Series" of events that blends elements of culture, philanthropy, and style.
NEVIN MARTELL'S 'POISON APPLE' (TALISKER 10, CARPANO ANTICA, PEACH
BITTERS,SMOKED APPLE SYRUP, SMOKED PORK BELLY, APPLE SLICE).
Much as they were for
summer and spring, master mixologists
Ari and Micah Wilder are back behind the bar as
part of a partnership with spirit giant
Diageo.
MICHAEL CLEMENTS' 'GENKI' (LAGAVULIN 16, WILDER BROS LEMON
GOMME,PEYCHAUDS BITTERS AND KUBLER ABSINTHE BURN,BURNT LEMON PEEL).
The third installment of the cocktail series draws inspiration from a new group of Washington muses, including
Juleanna Glover, lobbyist and hostess extraordinaire,
author and food writer
Nevin Martel, award-winning Jazz artist
Marcus Johnson,
Michael Clements, Chief Creative Enabler at ArtJamz, and
Kate
Bennett, Fashion Editor at
Washingtonian Magazine.
MARCUS JOHNSON'S 'FLO NOUVEAU' (PAMPERO, SPICED-REDUCED RED WINE,
LUXARDO MARASCHINO, WILDER BROS ORGEAT, BRANDIED CHERRY, SLICED ALMOND).
100% of the proceeds from the signature libations benefit the
Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit organization
dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals.
KATE BENNETT'S 'LBD' (KETEL ONE, CRÈME DI VIOLET, FRESH GRAPEFRUIT,
WILDER BROS GINGER BEER, GRAPEFRUIT CUBE).
Moreover, as it has done in the past, the Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel has generously agreed to continue to match the donation to the Children’s Miracle Network for the
most popular RX Cocktail, with the program having already raised close to $10,000.
JULEANNA GLOVER'S 'CONNECTOR' (KETEL ONE, WILDER BROS GINGER BEER,
FRESH LIME AND CASIS LAMBIC, LIME WHEEL).
Beyond a historic cultural period, the Renaissance is also apparently a cocktail movement.
