WEST END -- Already lined with high-end condominium complexes and top tier restaurants, such as West End 25 and Robert Wiedmaier flagship Marcel’s, the West End neighborhood of Washington will boast another anchor resident next week when celebrity makeup artist Erwin Gomez opens his highly anticipated new salon.

The aptly labeled Karma Beauty Lounge, located at 1104 24th Street, NW, will boast more than 4,000-squarefeet of space. Upon entry, guests will be enveloped by the rustic, yet still modern and inviting, atmosphere where no décor detail was left to chance.

Featuring traces of East Asian and Middle Eastern flair, the luxe space comes adorned with mosaic-inspired flooring, floor-to-ceiling mirror murals, old Victorian-style lounging chairs, Montclair marble countertops, and nautical rope-covered pillars.

But the interior design is but a small part of Karma, where the salon’s services are what truly shine. A variety of hair, skin, body, makeup, and nail treatments will be offered, including Gomez’s famed eyebrow sculpting.

And in keeping with the importance Gomez places on the artist/client relationship, personal touches abound throughout the beauty lounge. Ten private hair styling rooms each come equipped with their own adjustable sound systems, for example, and Karma also features two makeup suites alongside Erwin’s own, private studio.

“The design and atmosphere…was designed solely with my guests and team of artists in mind; they deserve only the best,” said Gomez. “We have created a great home to get pampered and have first-class services performed in an atmosphere that’s chic, yet inviting.”

Gomez, of course, is known for his longstanding client roster of A-listers and celebrities, including everyone from Eva Longoria to Stevie Wonder to Barbara Streisand to Garth Brooks.

The West End’s very own Karma chameleon...
