CAPITOL HILL -- In preparation for the opening of his latest restaurant, a Crystal City version of his popular Good Stuff Eatery, Chef Spike Mendelsohn announced today the launch of a new customer loyalty program.

Powered by D.C.-based mobile technology startup Venga's newly unveiled loyalty engine platform, the contest allows customers to use their phone to claim points for every dollar they spend at either of Mendelsohn’s existing Capitol Hill restaurants.

“When you come into Good Stuff Eatery or We, the Pizza on Capitol Hill, customers should look at the bottom of their receipt for instructions on how to play the free challenge, “ said Chef Spike. “It’s a fun, innovative way to get people involved in our new stores opening.”

Prizes for the contest include VIP tickets to the Crystal City opening, private dinner parties, tickets to D.C. Central Kitchen’s SoundBites music festival, and front row tickets to a Washington Nationals game, among others, with the most money spent qualifying for the best ones.

What’s unique about Venga’s new mobile platform is that it enables restaurants to reward patrons for their visits and spending without the need to swipe or punch a physical loyalty card.
