NORTHWEST -- Hailed as an “Editor’s Pick” in prior years by The Washington Post (“one of the most original galas in town”), The Washington Ballet Jeté Society's signature annual dance party is scheduled to draw the city’s movers-and-shakers to the grand ballrooms of The Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C. on Saturday evening.

Always one of the year’s most looked forward to events for the District’s burgeoning population of young professionals, this year’s party fetes the Ballet’s upcoming premiere of ‘ALICE (in wonderland)’, with a special ‘Mad Hatter’ theme.

In addition to a five hour open bar (six hours for VIPs) and a barrage of hip-shaking dance beats courtesy of New York City-based DJ Pitch One, guests will be the first to see some of designer Liz Vandal’s costume creations for the dance company's upcoming schedule of ballet performances.

Canadian-born Vandal, of course, was also the costume designer behind Cirque du Soleil’s award-winning OVO show, so dance party ticketholders and ballet lovers know that they will be in for a visual treat.

The 2012 dance party will mark the fifth year that Ashley Taylor and Winston Lord have served as co-chairs of the always sold-out event. Next year, Taylor’s fiancée, Matt Bronczek, will also join the team as a fellow host.

As in 2011, Washington Ballet faculty member Aaron Jackson is also hard at work choreographing another exclusive performance for Saturday evening, as a tribute to ALICE.

See you down the rabbit hole D.C.!

While pre-sale tickets to the 2012 Dance Party have long since sold out, both general admission and VIP (exclusive champagne bars!) tickets are still available!
