GEORGETOWN -- Bookending another year of successful fundraising that literally brought in thousands of dollars benefiting the No Greater Sacrifice nonprofit organization, The Madison hosted its signature ‘Madison & Mistletoe’ holiday party Saturday evening on the Georgetown waterfront.

A members-only (and their guests) annual December celebration, the stylish soiree saw hundreds of primarily young Washingtonians descend upon the House of Sweden for a late night party of dancing, libations, and small bites.

Now in its ninth year, the 2011 Madison & Mistletoe celebration benefited from a bevy of sponsors (Guinness stout, Voli light vodka, popchips!, etc.) who support the group’s mission of volunteerism.

Guests were particularly amused by recently-enlisted benefactor Crunkcakes’ tables, which were piled-high with alcohol-infused cupcakes.

Between sips and bites (or bites with sips inside even), festively attired attendees packed the dance floor where the R&B/rock cover band known as Doug Clark's Hot Nuts kept the party energized until just before midnight.

Thereafter, most guests braved the frigid temperatures outside and made their way to Smith Point for the official after party.

Since it was first founded in 2004, The Madison has raised more than $100,000 in support of local charities. Membership is strictly limited to 100 young women from the D.C. metro area and a primary designated beneficiary charity is chosen at the beginning of each year through a democratic balloting process.

Madison. Mistletoe. Merriment!
