Denim Does Good; Madison’s ‘Mason Jar-ty’ Party Raises $1,000+ For No Greater Sacrifice!

GLOVER PARK -- Singing the blues took on an entirely new dimension Thursday night, as the Madison of Washington, D.C. hosted its third annual denim party inside upper Georgetown’s newly renovated Mason Inn.

Guys and girls used the occasion to break out their favorite pairs of jean shirts, jean pants, jean skirts, jean purses, and just about any other imaginable form of the blue-tinged style staple, with many surprisingly successfully pulling-off the often reviled denim-on-denim look.

One lucky guy and girl even walked away with a $100 Mason Inn bar tab and complimentary tickets to the Madison’s signature holiday formal, ‘Madison + Mistletoe’, which will be held on Saturday, December 17th on the Georgetown waterfront, for winning the crowd’s ‘best dressed’ award.

With more than $1,000 raised, the evening served as an informal fundraiser for the non-profit organization’s 2011 charity of choice: No Greater Sacrifice. Founded in 2008, NGS is committed to helping the children of fallen and wounded members of the United States’ Armed Services.

Yesterday’s party also served as the tail-end celebration to one of the Madison’s private recruitment drives. Prospective new members vying for one of the coveted open spots the following year (the organization has a strict 100 member limit) had the opportunity to talk with existing Madisons and learn more about the group’s philanthropic and social activities.
