Shark Week 2011: Duke Ellington Students Jazzed About New Mascot; Georgetown Bicyclists Beware!

Where? A citywide project involving District of Columbia Public Schools, The Ellington Fund, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and George Washington University, the Duke Ellington School of the Arts provides high school students with an educational experience that includes college preparatory academics, pre-professional artistic training, and access to the cultural and intellectual resources of Washington.



Why? The jazz legend himself would be proud of the artistry involved with shooting a model on top of a 12-foot-high sea foam green Adirondack chair in a shark costume – with a bicycle (helmet included; safety first!).



Requisite Shark Joke:
Q: Why did the shark cross the Great Barrier Reef?
A: To get to the other tide.
