GEORGETOWN -- With plumes of fire illuminating the boardwalk, the Georgetown waterfront was literally the hottest place to be on Saturday night, as The Washington Ballet’s Jete Society hosted its wildly popular annual dance party, courtesy of co-chairs Ashley Taylor and Winston Bao Lord.

In keeping with the evening’s “untamed” theme, guests were guided to the “top secret” undisclosed location by way of a roving troupe of outdoor fire breathers and stilt walkers – telling clues of the fun that awaited them!

Fire breathers, stilt walkers, and sword swallowers kept guests entertained between dances.

Once inside a relatively non-descript office building, ticketholders were given free range of the entire second floor, which had been transformed for the night into a massive dance stage surrounded by numerous backlit (and fully-stocked) bars.

VIP ticketholders arrived at 8:00 p.m. and were treated to complimentary champagne cocktails, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and even an exclusive photo booth. With general admission guests beginning to stream-in around 9:00 p.m., the approximately 40,000 square foot dance floor quickly came alive, with DJ Pitch One pumping-out a steady stream of popular club favorites.

A sold-out affair for as long as we can remember, this year’s 10th Anniversary celebration was no different, with close to 1,000 tickets sold (and a wait list that swelled to over 400)!

RSVP Catering ensured that attendees had enough energy to pull-off even the most outrageous dance moves, with platters of mini boardwalk style corn dogs, crab cake sandwiches, and even deep-fried Snickers bars providing a unique twist on already very unique evening.

The sea of well-dressed guests sipped, supped, and danced until 2:00 a.m., only pausing for a break when performers from The Washington Ballet briefly showcased their own talents (and the real reason behind the evening’s fundraising efforts) to the songs of Lady Gaga in front of the main stage.

Washington Ballet faculty member Aaron Jackson staged a series of live performances for the crowd..

Alas, the greatest (dance party) show on Earth comes to D.C. but once a year. Only 363 days until the next one… We’re counting!
