Valentine's Day 2011 Feature: Mie N Yu

GEORGETOWN -- In order to reinforce just how much fun Washingtonians can have in Georgetown, 19 neighborhood dining spots are working together over this year’s Valentine’s Day weekend on a playful “Love Potions” promotion.

From Friday, February 11th through Monday, February 14th, area residents can visit any participating dining or drinking establishment to sample a seasonal specialty cocktail built for two, all for a scant $14.

The kicker is that each drink contains at least one natural aphrodisiac as a base ingredient. Everything from luscious strawberries to herbal sage to decadent chocolate will be mixed-up!

Today’s popular restaurant of choice, M Street’s Mie N Yu, will rise to the occasion with a colorful ‘Cupid’s Arrow’ cocktail – a nod to the Roman god of desire and affection.

A cool concoction of Bacardi Citrus rum, house-infused lavender raspberry syrup, grapefruit juice, and champagne, this drink is Bar Chef Rob Tinney’s take on a “Sour and Sangria hybrid” and serves as the perfect match to newly appointed Executive Chef RL Boyd’s refreshed menu.

Indeed, every two weeks for the next few months, Boyd plans on introducing six new dishes to Mie N Yu's menu until it has been completely transformed.

A romantic cocktail and a REVAMPED menu? Hmmm… Sounds pretty good to us!
