The Graham Georgetown is currently putting the finishing touches on its reconceived, lower-level lounge and dining room, with the new space scheduled to reopen at the end of the week.
Rechristened
The Alex (a nod to the hotel's namesake:
Alexander Graham Bell), the intimate cocktail lounge has received a thorough makeover courtesy of acclaimed D.C. design firm
Swatchroom.
The cozy parlor now boasts an early 20th Century, 'steam-punk' aesthetic that blends warm shades of black and bronze with deep jewel tones. Notable accents include a twenty-foot brass pipe ceiling installation, sumptuous drapery, and a variety of multi-tier seating.
Although The Alex will offer both a breakfast and an evening small plate menu, the emphasis is intended to be more on its highly imaginative craft cocktails and fine wines.

The Alex is located at 1075 Thomas Jefferson Street NW and opens to the public on Friday, February 6th.
