The latest
POV Live session to takeover the prized rooftop of the
W Washington D.C. came courtesy of breakout new artist
VERITE (born Kelsey Byrne) on Thursday night.
Buzzfeed called the New York musician one of the best artists in alt/pop and
Vice said that her current lead single, 'Strange Enough', "ignited the Internet."
Byrne and her band swooped into D.C. last week for the packed performance, which drew nearly a hundred music lovers to the hotel's lounge, whose coveted views of the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial provided an ideal setting for the occasion.
Afterward, band members joined the W's General Manager and a handful of lucky staffers and guests for a private after party inside the hotel's underground 'Root Cellar' whiskey bar.
The next POV Live session -- each of which is carefully curated by
BYT founder
Svetlana Legetic -- will showcase a
trio of local artists next week, as part of a special Valentine's Day-themed installment.
