Tourists streaming out of the Smithsonian's
Air & Space Museum on Wednesday night likely left with even more stars in their eyes than usual, as they accidentally stumbled upon the Washington, D.C. premiere of Paramount and Warner Bros. Pictures' new
Interstellar blockbuster.
Directed by acclaimed director
Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Memento), the sci-fi action/adventure film explores mankind's future in space, with humanity's time on Earth coming to an end, as a team of explorers travels beyond the Milky Way galaxy.
Oscar winners
Matthew McConaughey and
Anne Hathaway and Oscar nominee
Jessica Chastain were three of the principal cast members who joined Nolan, along with producer
Emma Thomas, on the space 'black carpet' during yesterday's advance screening.
Joining them inside the museum's spacious IMAX theater were plenty of the District's own VIPs, including Hill staffers, administration officials, and media types alike.
Guests to the invite-only bash sipped cocktails and noshed on lobster rolls and bites of tuna tartare during the reception portion of the evening. Word was it that everything was out of this world.
